My take on Rafizi's fate in PKR

Rafizi’s return to private life was entirely predictable. As most people know, principled individuals rarely endure long in politics. The level of backstabbing and fitnah within any political party is beyond imagination—a relentless culture of crabs in a basket, always scheming to drag someone down.           Many of us anticipated Nurul Izzah Anwar’s victory in the election, setting the stage for the next political manoeuvre—one that will soon unfold. Over the next two years, expect a barrage of attacks aimed at both Anwar Ibrahim and Nurul, from within their own ranks as well as external forces.           Make no mistake—political adversaries do not merely challenge from the outside; they infiltrate, working to dismantle the party from within. Rafizi saw this coming but failed to resist it, proving that he was not yet ready for the role of Prime Minister.           Since Anwar assumed office, the...

Understanding the current political landscape in PKR, and What's the Likely Outcome?

MANY HAVE been asking: Why did incumbent Rafizi Ramli abruptly shift his stance, urging PKR members to support his contender, Nurul Izzah Anwar?           Is this a calculated political move, a signal of an impending defection, or a dramatic gesture of strategic self-sacrifice?           If you have been following PKR's political trajectory, you would recognise that Rafizi and Nurul Izzah—once close allies—have long championed bold reformist ideals aimed at propelling the nation forward.            Their shared vision for systemic change has shaped their political narratives over the years, though shifts in alliances and strategy now raise questions about their evolving roles in PKR’s direction.          Rafizi is, at his core, a strategist deeply committed to the causes he believes in. While somewhat aloof at times as a person, he maintains a strong and me...

Dogs and cats don't have a place in Malaysia Madani?

ALTHOUGH I would not consider myself as a dog lover like most of my friends are, feeding the strays and rescuing them from the ditches, I see this campaign will be one of the major issues causing the people to vote out the Pakatan Harapan government.           My advice has always been to work with the non-governmental organisations, the way how wife of the 10th prime minister, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has done in Bandar Tun Razak. Activists lack the funding, and the government (both political leaders and the public servants) lack the passion for the stray animals.            Trust me, it is this kind of partnership that will eventually bring about a 'madani' environment for the animals. My 13-year-old girl has a way to put it when I asked her to write something about life of cats and dogs in Turkiye. Please watch the video in this blogpost about Lunar, a stray, tabby cat that frequently came to our home in the ...

A GOOD EXAMPLE TO EMULATE: Observe how this Datuk Bandar handles a sensitive issue involving people's rice bowl

Listen to the video to see how MBPJ Datuk Bandar Zahri Samingon handles a sensitive issue involving people's rice bowl. Although the job has to be done, his approach is noteworthy to be emulated by other government officers.

MBPJ and the Heartwarming One Pothole Story

One June 5, I had just realised that, while driving in Petaling Jaya everyday, there was hardly a pothole that I could snap a picture to show to the Mayor, Tuan Zahri bin Samingon.           Teasingly, I wrote to him, " Saya baru sedar dan lama saya tidak “kacau” Datuk. 🤪memang Zero complaints 🤣" (I have just realised, Datuk, for some time now I have not been "disturbing" you. It's truly Zero complaints.)          I added: " Lubang pothole tak nampak. Sampah pukal tak nampak. Titik buta tidak ada lagi. Lama kelamaan saya tak ada kerja lagi. 👍🏽👍🏽🤪🤣"  (I can't see a pothole. Illegal dumps also no longer there. No more blindspots that I can find. Very soon, I will be  out of job.)          It was meant to be a friendly chat with him. Having the habit of capturing with my SLR camera loaded with rolls of Fuji or Kodak films provided by the New Straits Times in the past, nowadays, the mobi...

Learning to use fact-checking platform SEBENARNYA.my

Sebenarnya.my has both a portal as a platform to do fact-checks on random articles written by unknown people on the social media, as well as a WhatsApp number (+60 3-8688 7997 ) which you can save on your phone.           I have received a long article written, which I had to get Microsoft Copilot to summarise me to less than 2048 characters. Assuming each word has an average of 5 characters, this means the summary has to be less than 400 words.           Well, this is what I managed to get from Microsoft Copilot to be forwarded as a message to Sebenarnya.my since both AIs reside on the WhatsApp platform.  This summary suggests a strategic shift in Malaysia’s political landscape, centered around Anwar Ibrahim’s alleged betrayal of Pakatan Harapan (PH). The argument presented claims that Anwar is engineering a move toward complete Malay-Muslim dominance, aligning with Perikatan Nasional (PN) to ultimately reshape Ma...
