It is all about constitutional provision, Mr Watson

My response to all the naysayers’ complaints. This piece is written based on my reading into the issue which I shared with my friend: Terjemahan ke Bahasa Melayu dibuat oleh AI. Some people who criticised Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for not extending chief justice, Tun Maimun Tuan Mat’s tenure have probably  only now roused from their slumber to declare that our education and healthcare systems are in a “critical state”. For the record, do they even recall when doctors in Malaysia first went on strike? 2021, a year before Anwar was made the prime minister! The country’s debts did not accumulate overnight, nor did discussions about subsidy cuts begin only in recent months. To my knowledge, subsidy cut has been discussed in the public domain for over a decade - yet previous prime ministers lacked the courage to act. If Anwar continues claiming Mal...

IN ALL FOUR LANGUAGES: Ampun Tuanku, Kerajaan Madani sekarang dalam pandangan saya…

My text is in Malay, but the text in English, Mandarin and Tamil below is provided by Artificial Intelligence.”

How to analyse the news to understand what is happening in the country

This is how from my own observation of various media, I carry out an independent analysis to understand what is happening in the country . You can do the same: 1) the country is in such a deplorable state that it will be impossible to turn things around overnight.  Every move by any well-meaning person will get heckled, or stabbed on the back. 2) You can see this pattern in  (a) investigation into Teoh Beng Hock's case were Anwar on one hand made an effort to meet Teoh Beng Hock's family to convey his intentions to get to the bottom of the case, but investigation carried out by Shuhaily Mohd Zain from CID was focused on the family of the victim, instead of the few MACC officers. To me, it was clearly a smack in the face of Anwar. (b) similarly, in the case of Fahmi Reza, someone in PDRM apparently had blocked his exit from the country to the point that the IGP had to openly apologise. Stern actions should be taken against such an officer who put the block. It has happen...

It’s time to clear away the unsightly, abandoned phone booths

There are likely hundreds—if not thousands—of abandoned public phone booths scattered across the country, remnants of an era before mobile phones became ubiquitous.             These neglected structures are more than just eyesores; they occupy valuable space that could be repurposed for more practical use.             According to Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), these phone booths do not belong to them. A Public Complaints Bureau investigation found that they are assets of a company that has long ceased operations.             In true Malaysian fashion, no one has taken responsibility for clearing up the mess—the company vanished, leaving the booths behind. What’s more perplexing is that local councils, despite having the authority to order their removal, have never exercised it.                 Therefore, it is a farce ...
