A good decision by Harapan indeed

DAP Penang was supposed to have its state election alongside with the general election, although the initial decision made by Pakatan Harapan was to hold its state election at the end of the full term.

This, by right, should be the case which is why everyone was telling Ismail Sabri Yaakob not to hold the general election during the monsoon season.

But then, Penang state government was right that if the state election is not held simultaneously, it may not be able to attract big voters' turnout.

It is good for DAP to allow voices of dissent, instead of chastising the state DAP for proposing something contrary to the earlier decision. After all, there is no right or wrong answer. Either way, you cannot predict voters' sentiment six or eight months from now.

Whatever it is, I agree with the Harapan's decision to maintain its earlier no dissolution of state assemblies. The only hassle is to vote a second time. And for people to return from neighbouring countries, it is a matter of just planning the trip back to coincide with the state election.

Except for my campaign not only to snub but vote against PH in my state of Selangor, so that they do not become too arrogant and think that they are indispensable or winning big in every state election, I will still cast my vote for the Opposition in Selangor.

I have already identified some of the PH goons including Amirudin Shari (Menteri Besar) who are not serving the people but merely warming their state exco seats.

For now, I will vote for PH at the federal level. I am consistent with what I am saying although some people think I am now a turncoat.

If everyone does this, we will teach PH a hard lesson that it cannot win without the support of the people. Yes, it may remain in power in Selangor for yet another term, but if they continue to be snobbish, they may end up in the Opposition once again.

Hopefully, by then, BN in Selangor gets its act together again, or else, how can they be trusted to run a clean government in Selangor with all the tainted politicians being recycled as candidates for state constituencies?

My heart will go on

It must be at least twenty years ago when I first encountered Malaysia’s very own Stevie Wonder, Colin Ng Soon Beng. It was during Chinese New Year, at the home of a mutual friend. Colin was only about ten years old then. His mother introduced him to me as a “special child.” She said, “Pick a song. We’ll play it for Colin to listen, and he will play it back for you.” I chose My Heart Will Go On from Titanic. To this day, Colin still remembers that it was the song he played for me. Born with multiple disabilities, Colin’s journey has been anything but ordinary. Being visually impaired, he could not learn music the way most children do. Yet God blessed him with an extraordinary gift: a razor-sharp ear. He could identify the brand of a photocopier or the model of a car simply by hearing its sound. His mother, Janet, devoted her life to nurturing his talent. After losing her husband when Colin was 24, she became not only a mother but also a father figure, chauffeur, and companion in ...

DALAM EMPAT BAHASA/ IN FOUR LANGUAGES/在四种语言中/ நான்கு மொழிகளில்: A Piece of Good News Worth Celebratinng
