Dr Mahathir needs to think about the future of Malaysians
One of the key people in stirring up the racial riot in 1969, Dr Mahathir is now in his 90s. He should at least try to behave like a statesman, rather than further destroying the country's future.
From my observations, he is not only heckled by Pakatan Harapan supporters whom he betrayed, he is also criticised a lot in Umno / Pas chat groups.
A few things he should realise are:
* The politics of the country have changed since Reformasi in 1998. It is no longer the same as in the past, where the Internet did not exist and information was controlled by the government.
* He is no longer relevant in Malaysian politics especially after he played out the very people who gave him a second chance to make a comeback. It would extremely hard for people to forget the Sheraton Move as an episode that was designed by him and his Bersatu gang.
* The current battle is between PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) and between Anwar Ibrahim and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Pejuang, like the Independents, is not relevant. It is no wonder that in states like Sabah, Dr Mahathir's ceramah sessions (as depicted by the video above) were snubbed by the people.
*Dr Mahathir in his 90s should realise that his is a passing generation. Many of his supporters in the past have moved on, and the generation that grew up experiencing the May 13 riot know who were behind the mini-coup to remove Tunku Abdul Rahman Petra Al-Haj, who was known as the Father of Independence.
To be fair to him, Dr Mahathir has contributed something to the nation's development; however, the wrongdoings outweigh all his contributions.
He is capable of all kinds of lies just to achieve his objectives. He lied that he was not involved in Sheraton Move, until the audio recording of his involvement was exposed. The spin doctor is good at throwing in doubts to cause people to pit against each other.
Let this be a lesson to many who are aspiring to be leaders. Whatever actions that they do now, they will reap at a later date.
