Fleetcards being held back from small traders with lorries



I am angry. My anger is based on a righteous form of anger of how people can treat their fellow human beings. 

        You can help by spreading the word to the traders whom you buy things from. Help them if they have not received their fleetcard after applying for a long time.

        What Happened in this Case

        When the government implemented targeted subsidies to stop all the smuggling of diesel to neighbouring countries, it takes into consideration that subsidies still need to be given to businesses that are part of the supply chain for food and other necessities. 

        Every year, millions of Ringgit are lost due to the smuggling activities. Cheap diesel is transported to sell elsewhere at a higher price. The enforcement division of KPDN has raided a number of places where diesel is being smuggled elsewhere. Just go to TikTok and search KPDN and you will see a lot of the raids. 

        Fleetcards are designed to ensure that these eligible lorry owners who meet the criteria get their subsidies when they pump diesel. 

        Guess what happened? I was chatting with a small trader. Let's call his name Ahmad. Ahmad has one small lorry selling some food stuff. For two months he waited for his Fleet card. When he enquired with the petrol station staff, he was told: 


        He claimed that the ones driving the big lorries are given a stack of the cards while ordinary people like him get nothing. Waiting for two months, they were still not given the Fleet cards despite approval already given by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living:


        It may not be only one petrol station or a company, but it could be more widespread. I hope the ministry will investigate and take to task companies that try to boycott the government's initiatives.

        In this case, the trader's complaint was channelled directly to the deputy minister, YB Fuziah Salleh who did a good job in assisting the trader. 

        Go to TikTok and you will see that she is always on the ground to monitor the situation. Both the late Salahuddin Ayub and Fuziah are what we need in our government. 


        This afternoon, Ahmad told me of the good news that he finally received his Fleetcard! Why so fast? 

        It's time for the Ministry to issue a warning against any petrol company or station that may be delaying the issuance of the Fleet cards. Why are they delaying the process? 

        Whether this is a case of one petrol company or one petrol station or just one or a few individuals, I do not know but the delay is really unfair to the small traders like Ahmad.

        Is this a sabotage on the ground? It is for me to know and for you to find out. But what I care for is that the country is not being sabotaged by anyone. We should all focus on rebuilding the country, and put politics aside until the next general election.
