Saya terima baik....

I FIND IT amusing when netizens go abuzz over one short comment by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Frankly, when someone apologises, what would you expect Anwar to say, regardless of whether it is genuine or a mere pretence? Only God knows!

The context in which he had uttered these few words has yet to be understood but people are already making a mountain out of a molehill. Do not forget that the first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman was ousted because of the surat layang by Dr Mahathir Mohamad in his younger days. Abdullah Badawi was also forced to vacate his post because of Dr Mahathir. Now, there are simply people who are trying to topple Anwar for some very obvious reasons.

One netizen said restitution has to be made as RM2.3 billion has gone into his private account, and now claiming that he knows that the money is not from the Saudi prince, he should pay back the money to the 1MDB fund. In short, he should return the money back to the people.

The other angle used by the cybertroopers is to say that the bill for house arrest, which Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said would be tabled some time next year, is meant to put Najib on house arrest. As discerning citizens, we should realise that Najib's appeal to be placed on house arrest is coming up in November before the court.

Therefore, as explained by Saifuddin Nasution, the Bill on House Arrest is meant only for first time offenders, usually those who commit a minor offence. For example, a mother who has to steal baby powder to feed her baby. If she spends one year in jail, who would be able to look after the baby? How would the child grow up experiencing the mother's love?

I will not delve into the honourable judge's decision which will be up soon, or else, this will be seen as a form of contempt. In fact, a lawyer told me that that Najib's son, Nizar Najib (he was mistaken that Nizar is Najib's brother) who read out his apology may have committed an act of subjudice.

Having said that, is anyone going to accuse Anwar for not dragging Nijar to court to explain why he is not committing contempt of court? I am not surprised someone will do it, and many will still believe what he or she has to say. It is as though Anwar can involve himself in everything in the country.

Time to be aware of what is happening in the country, and move on, as we have a lot to do to rebuild this nation to where it is supposed to be.

IN ALL FOUR LANGUAGES: Ampun Tuanku, Kerajaan Madani sekarang dalam pandangan saya…

My text is in Malay, but the text in English, Mandarin and Tamil below is provided by Artificial Intelligence.”

My heart will go on

It must be at least twenty years ago when I first encountered Malaysia’s very own Stevie Wonder, Colin Ng Soon Beng. It was during Chinese New Year, at the home of a mutual friend. Colin was only about ten years old then. His mother introduced him to me as a “special child.” She said, “Pick a song. We’ll play it for Colin to listen, and he will play it back for you.” I chose My Heart Will Go On from Titanic. To this day, Colin still remembers that it was the song he played for me. Born with multiple disabilities, Colin’s journey has been anything but ordinary. Being visually impaired, he could not learn music the way most children do. Yet God blessed him with an extraordinary gift: a razor-sharp ear. He could identify the brand of a photocopier or the model of a car simply by hearing its sound. His mother, Janet, devoted her life to nurturing his talent. After losing her husband when Colin was 24, she became not only a mother but also a father figure, chauffeur, and companion in ...

DALAM EMPAT BAHASA/ IN FOUR LANGUAGES/在四种语言中/ நான்கு மொழிகளில்: A Piece of Good News Worth Celebratinng
