Cats for adoption

These stray cats at Sri Damansara near the wet market are mostly very tame.

There are Siamese cats like this pregnant mother cat. Its fur is beautiful. It is also very tame.

It really does not make sense to buy the cat when you can adopt the cats as your pets. Send it to the vet and have it checked. It will be happy to find a home where it is well-taken care of.

This is the objective of the Taman Kucing Madani at Bandar Tun Razak set up by its Member of Parliament, Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, wife of our Prime Minister.

Tonight, two teams of animal rescue volunteers came from Cheras to help pick up these stray cats. What prompted this "operation" was because one of the factory owners told us that some of the cats were found dead in the middle of the road.

What they needed is a place where they get treated by a veterinarian, and if there is an owner wishing to claim the cats, they can report themselves to the Taman Kuching Madani.

Meanwhile, while they are there, they are well-fed and given expensive cat feed.

It is not easy for all these volunteers. These "angels" came all the way from Cheras to Sri Damansara tonight. A total of nine cats were picked and taken back to the Taman Kuching Madani in Cheras.

Hey, Kitty kitty, come with us...

Thank you to all the angels

These cats have finally arrived at Taman Kucing Madani. Thanks to Kak Wan, who alerted Abang Edi, Kak Shaa and all the volunteers from Persatuan Rakan Kucing Malaysia who came today.

Of course, we should not forget Kak Wan (Dr Wan Azizah) and Datuk Azman Abidin (political secretary of PMX) as Patrons of Persatuan Rakan Kucing Malaysia for all their efforts to make Taman Kucing a reality.

Also thanks to Jiaxu who first told us about the plight of these stray cats. I am not sure but I think one of the cats with a collar had injuries, and the volunteers wanted to bring it back to be treated by a veterinarian.

For now, the cats will be well-taken care of. You can also visit the Taman Kucing. The cats will be here till they are adopted by families that show love to them. Every couple of weeks, the adoptive pet owners will send videos of their new pets to show their welfare.

How you can also help

You can also volunteer as cat rescuers by registering yourself with the team in Cheras.

        Register here: https://forms.gle/d3y2Nad9mP2Aa7ra9

This will save them the hassle of coming all the way from Cheras just to pick up the stray cats. You can also encourage others to adopt the cats.

You can also be a small donor by giving your little donation to Persatuan Rakan Kucing Malaysia.

If you know of any corporation that is willing to come as a sponsor to enhance the Taman Kucing, you can also contact them to discuss. Please sound it out to staff at Kak Wan's service centre.

If you are running a university with students of veterinary science, you may want to consider offering your students either on internship or CSR. If on internship, you may want to get some pharmaceutical companies to sponsor your students throughout the entire period when they are serving the Taman Kucing.

And if you are a politician wanting to do something for your non-voting cats and dogs in your constituency following the footsteps of Kak Wan, you may want to consider working alongside some existing NGOs which are already set up but struggling financially to maintain their animal shelters. Only make sure that the funds are properly managed and there is accountability since it is public money that you are using.
