At a time when the nation is outraged by the mutilation of cats and dogs, one woman chose to rescue a cat from a block in Sri Penara Apartment, Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.           In fact, it was her child who first spotted the cat and took photographs to show Kak Shaa, a volunteer at Taman Kucing in Bandar Tun Razak.           The cat’s condition was heartbreaking, with part of its bone exposed when Kak Shaa finally found it after searching for several days.        Unable to attend to it herself due to her busy schedule, she enlisted the help of another volunteer to take the cat, now named Belang, to a veterinarian for treatment.        Part of Belang's leg had to be amputated.
