Nine years of waiting and she has finally received her permanent residency

Image
IT IS HEARTENING to hear from an Indonesian mother of Chinese descent who married a Malaysian man and, after nearly nine years of waiting, finally had her Entry Permit appeal—initially rejected—approved by the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.             Here are her own heartfelt words of appreciation to Saifuddin Nasution, spoken from a place of deep gratitude: Thank you so much to the Minister and the Immigrations Department for approving my Entry Permit application. I am very happy because my waiting from 2017 since I submitted an Entry Permit Appeal and was rejected and given a Resident pass. And I am appealed to have my Entry Permit Appeal approved as a wife to a citizen and a mother of 2 citizen children. Thank you to the Minister and the JPN because my wait after almost 9 years is over now. Thank you so much and God bless 🙏🙏           Frankly, I do not recall who she is, but I ...

Lembu punya susu, sapi punya nama

Image
I FIND THIS quite amusing. No wonder there’s a Malay saying, "Lembu punya susu, sapi punya nama," which translates to: "The cow produces the milk, but the buffalo gets the credit."              As with many other cases, politicians are quick to claim victory when a problem is resolved—yet the real credit belongs to two women who worked tirelessly to find an amicable solution.             These two women had the full support of their boss, none other than PMX, who ironically gets blamed for everything that goes wrong in the country.   A few actors, same drama script           I have no issue with Saravanan announcing that the problem has been resolved. But wasn’t this Hindu temple issue lingering since 2012? Why was it only solved now? Saravanan should at least acknowledge the efforts of these two women who truly made it happen.         ...

Oh, I didn't know Malaysians face travel bans across many countries!

Image
THIS video has been circulated around so many times that it has reached me at least twice after it was first shared on social media.          If you have received this video talking about why Malaysians are facing travel bans and restrictions (so called in 2025), you have been fooled. If you do not believe me, check the Star:   https://www.thestar.com.my/news/true-or-not/2025/03/25/quickcheck-have-new-visa-restrictions-been-imposed-on-malaysians-travelling-abroad  The reporter has also checked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.          The video was already around since 2023 or 2024 as far as I remember.           The way to deal with this kind of video is to just ignore it. Exercise some critical thinking to evaluate whether the video holds any truth. Ask yourself these questions: Who produced this video?  Why is it produced?  Who has all the time in the world to create a video ...

Exilarated when you meet an "angel" at MBPJ, no?

I have over 30 years of wrestling, not with the Sumo wrestlers, but with the Little Napoleons in our local councils.          As a problem-solver, I don't want to waste time with the Little Napoleons. And there are so many of them. Unless the Madani government does something to deal with these little Napoleons, the rakyat will continue to suffer.           Meanwhile, having someone like Datuk Bandar Hj Zahri Samingon, the mayor of Petaling Jaya is like finding a gem among the civil servants.  How It all Began          My activism started because of an incident that happened around 1990 when a senior citizen in my neighbourhood asked me to help complain to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) about a tree trunk left to rot just beside her shop. She claimed she saw a small snake emerging from the trunk.           I called DBKL branch office, and spoke to one gentleman. Wh...

Tauladan Datuk Bandar Petaling Jaya perlu dicontohi/ PJ Mayor is worth emulating

For the English version scroll below to read the text in blue. Me...

Aurora! Aurora! Open the Door!

Image
A 14-year-old girl fainted while she was in the school toilet. She was later diagnosed with presyncope, a condition where a person faints but remains semi-conscious and can still hear voices.           "Aurora! Aurora! Open the door!" she heard her friend Abigail calling from outside the toilet. However, Aurora was too weak to even touch the doorknob.           In desperation, Abigail decided to do the unthinkable. The only way to get behind the locked toilet door was to crawl underneath it.           Within moments, she managed to do just that, and finally, the door was unlocked.           Thanks to Abigail's quick thinking, she was able to help Aurora reach a safe place before calling for the teachers. By this time, several teachers had already gathered at the ladies' toilet.          This brings to mind the Pingat Hang Tuah, an award that th...
